RESORT OPERATIONS MANAGER: Fairmont Le Château Montebello - Montebello, QC

At Fairmont Le Château Montebello our guests discover the region through unique activities offered by our departments of marina, golf and activities (curling, cycling, cross-country skiing, games, fitness center, ...). With a long-term vision and leadership qualities, the Resort Operations Manager achieves excellent operating results while ensuring the ongoing satisfaction of our customers within a motivated team.

 

Your role: 

HUMAN MANAGEMENT

  • Hire, train and supervise staff;
  • Develop and guide leaders and colleagues of different departments;
  • Ensure that all team members understand objectives, standards and policies and that procedures are followed;
  • Manage a team that will enhance the customer experience as well as the image of the property;
  • Promote a friendly work environment for our employees;
  • Work in collaboration with other hotel departments.


FINANCIAL & ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT

  • Preparation and monitoring of the annual budget for activities, golf and marina;
  • Audit and approval of departmental payroll;
  • Use an effective operational management approach focused on performance and continued profitability;
  • Attend departmental meetings as requested by the Directorate-General;
  • Make the necessary purchases for departments


PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

  • Carry out a market study including competition
  • Definition of the positioning and "resort" offer of the Fairmont Château Montebello
  • Plan and coordinate with the Director, Sales and Marketing a strategy to captivate an ever-growing target clientele; Update the business plan and business activities
  • Develop partnerships and manage with dealers

 

 

OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure compliance with hygiene rules and ensure the safety of customers and staff; in case of proven risk, notify the Management
  • Plan the offer of activities over the year and in the short term, including permanent program, special events and tournaments
  • Replace operators and managers in customer service as needed
  • Respond and handle customer complaints quickly and in person
  • Provide products and services in accordance with hotel and Fairmont brand standards and procedures
  • Ensure the quality of the customer relationship in a proactive and reactive manner (including possible complaints)
  • Ensure that marina, golf and activities are conducted with environmental awareness;
  • Ensure that facilities/infrastructure/materials are maintained in good condition (quality and quantity)
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of safety procedures and use equipment appropriately.

 

Your experience and skills include:

  • 5 years of experience in profit center management in the field of sports (golf, sports resort, tourist center, fitness center, ...)
  • Expertise in the sports field and practice/knowledge of several of the activities offered at the hotel
  • Experience in hospitality an asset
  • Strong ability to manage complex situations
  • Have a good sense of planning and organization
  • Dynamic, energetic with very good oral and written communication skills (French-English)
  • Collaborative ability and competence to encourage inter-departmental communication and teamwork
  • Ability to create and maintain an organizational culture conducive to engagement within the department, consistent with the philosophy of the hotel, the Fairmont brand and the Accor group
  • Have good computer skills (Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of POS and OPERA/PM systems is an asset
