Golf Professional - Windmill Heights
Founded by members of the Canadian Pacific Railway, under the name of Wentworth Country Club, it moved on Ile Perrot island in 1968. Renowned golf course architect John Watson was elected to design the course and in 1974 it is officially renamed Ile Perrot Golf Club, a name which it would keep for the next 40 years. In 2013 the club is sold and would change name the following year. The new name, Windmill Heights Golf & Country Club, is chosen in honor of the Ile-Perrot windmill and the fact that the club is located on the top of a hill. It’s dining room offers a picturesque view of Downtown Montreal and Lac St-Louis, and is an ideal location for weddings, banquets, and club events. The course, located in a quiet countryside atmosphere, offers numerous challenges to golfers of all skill levels. Tight wooded fairways, or protected by sand bunkers, as well as water hazards define the course’s character. A real gem, long considered to be one of the best kept secrets of the region.
