More than 500 people gathered Thursday last for the evening of the PGA of Canada in Orlando, Florida as part of the buying of the PGA of America show.

This annual meeting to celebrate golf at the Canada brought together professionals of the PGA of Canada, friends and journalists, the PGA World Alliance members and distinguished guests.

"The evening of the PGA of the Canada is synonymous with good times," stressed the president of the PGA of the Canada, Mark Patterson.  "The excitement was palpable throughout the evening; never shall I forget the sense of pride that I had to be a member of this great organization is the PGA of the Canada."

The 2018 winners honored include:

Awards professional of the year Murray-Tucker: Debbie Savoy-Morel, Golf Le Mirage; Quebec;

Award teacher of the year George Knudson: Gareth Raflewski, Riverbend Golf, Ontario;

Award player of the year Mike Weir: Pierre - Alexandre Bédard, Golf Cap Rouge, Quebec;

Award coach of the year Ben Kern: Jeff Chambers, Elmwood Golf, Saskatchewan;

Award candidate to the status of Member of the Moe Norman year: Casey Ward, Credit Valley Golf, Ontario;

Meritas development professional Tex Noble: Jason Giesbrecht, Royal Colwood Golf, British Colombia;

Award retailer of the year Pat Fletcher: Padraig Kelly, Ladies Golf Club of Toronto, Ontario;

Award professional class A the year Stan Leonard: Greg Pool, Capilano Golf, British Colombia;

Meritas junior Leader of the year Jack McLaughlin: Jennifer Greggain, Chilliwack Golf, British Colombia;

Award Manager Professional of the year Dick-Munn: Alan Carter, Edmonton Golf, Alberta;

Award Service exceptional George-Cumming: Sandy Jones, United Kingdom.
In addition, and not least, Paul Sherratt was inducted into the Hall of Fame on the PGA Tour from the Canada.
