Jeevan Sihota Sets a New Record and Wins the 2026 Victoriaville-Fenergic Canada Cup
Victoriaville, August 16, 2026 – At the end of a week of spectacular competition at the Victoriaville Golf Club, Jeevan Sihota wrote his name into the history books of the Victoriaville-Fenergic Canada Cup. The Canadian won the 13th edition of the event with a cumulative score of 25 under par, setting a new tournament record in the process.
Sihota had an exceptional week, carding rounds of 66, 63, 69, and 65 for a total of 263 strokes - 25 under par. With this result, he broke the previous record of -24, which had been set three times in the history of the Canada Cup: by Eric Banks in 2019, Jake Scott in 2022, and Maxwell Sear in 2024.
Thanks to this remarkable performance, Sihota leaves Victoriaville with the Victoriaville-Fenergic Canada Cup trophy and a $35,000 prize.
A Team Victory with His Father
This victory holds special significance for Sihota, who was able to count on his father by his side throughout the week as his caddie. His presence played a key role in Sihota’s success.
“I owe a lot to my dad this week. He was incredible on the bag. He kept me calm, helped me make the right decisions, and was always there for me, no matter the situation. It’s really special to experience a victory like this with him,” said Jeevan Sihota after his win.
With four rounds under 70 and a particularly impressive 63 (-9) in the second round, Sihota quickly made it clear that anyone would have to be at their best to catch him. He ultimately held his nerve until the very end to set a new tournament record.
Jake Scott and Thomas Giroux round out the podium
Former Canada Cup champion Jake Scott delivered a solid performance to finish in second place with a total of -22. The American, who won the tournament in 2022, carded rounds of 66, 68, 67, and 65 to finish three strokes behind the champion.
Canadian Thomas Giroux, a native of Ontario, rounded out the podium with a score of -21. Giroux also had an excellent week, with rounds of 67, 68, 66, and 66.
Joey Savoie Among the Best
Defending champion Joey Savoie once again demonstrated his consistency in Victoriaville. The Québec native finished the competition with an excellent score of -20, good for a tie for fourth place.
After winning the 12th edition of the Victoriaville-Fenergic Canada Cup in 2025 and the amateur division in 2015, Savoie has added yet another standout performance to his record in the event.
His fellow Quebecer Étienne Papineau also had a solid week. One of the most highly anticipated Québec players in the competition, Papineau finished the tournament with a total of -16, tied for 11thplace.
Lacasse and Vandette, Top Members of the PGA of Québec
Among the members of the PGA of Québec, the honors went to Brendan Lacasse and Chris Vandette, who both tied for eighth place with an impressive score of -17.
The two Quebecers demonstrated the quality of the PGA of Québec contingent in Victoriaville this week.
Anthony Jomphe Wins the Subway Cup
The Subway Cup, awarded to the top amateur in the competition, went to Anthony Jomphe of Chicoutimi.
Jomphe had an excellent week, carding rounds of 68, 67, 67, and 69 for a cumulative total of -17. This performance allowed him to finish tied for eighth place in the overall standings—a remarkable achievement against a field of professionals from Canada and the United States, among others.
With four rounds under 70, Jomphe demonstrated great consistency throughout the week to claim top honors in the amateur division.
A Successful 13th Edition
The 13th edition of the Victoriaville-Fenergic Canada Cup once again delivered a high-caliber spectacle to the many golf fans in attendance at the Golf Club in Victoriaville. With a strong field, several former champions in action, and a significant contingent of Québec players, the event allowed spectators to witness a closely contested competition right down to the very last round.
The quality of play was also top-notch, as the new record of -25 set by Sihota attests to the high level of performance on display this week. In addition to the tournament record, several players delivered spectacular rounds, allowing fans in attendance to follow a thrilling battle for the top spots.
