Jeevan Sihota Takes the Lead After 36 Holes at the Victoriaville-Fenergic Canada Cup
Victoriaville, August 14, 2026 – The second round of the Victoriaville-Fenergic Canada Cup concluded Friday at the Victoriaville Golf Club, as the players completed the first 36 holes of the tournament. Following an already spectacular first round, the players delivered strong performances heading into the midweek break.
After shooting a 66 (-6) in the first round, Jeevan Sihota continued his strong play with an impressive 63 (-9) on Friday. With a cumulative score of -15 after 36 holes, he has taken the lead in the standings.
He is followed by AJ Cavotta, who currently holds second place with a cumulative score of -12.
In third place, Ashton McCulloch carded a 67 (-5) to reach a total of -11 after two rounds.
Lacasse Leads the Quebecers
The top Québec player in the standings after 36 holes is Brandon Lacasse, who is in an excellent position with a cumulative score of -10, thanks to a round of 66 (-6) today.
Marc-Olivier Plasse also had an excellent second round. The Québec native carded a 63 (-9), allowing him to climb rapidly up the leaderboard after 36 holes.
Among the players to watch, defending champion Joey Savoie shot a solid 67 (-5) on Friday. With a total of -9, he is tied for ninth place and remains well-positioned for the final two rounds.
Yohann Benson is also tied for ninth place with a total of -9, after shooting a 69 (-3) in the second round.
Étienne Papineau also remains well-positioned after 36 holes. The Québec native carded a 69 (-3) in the second round and now stands at a total of -9, placing him tied for ninth. He joins Joey Savoie and Yohann Benson among the Québec players in a comfortable position heading into the weekend.
Anthony Jomphe, Top Amateur
The best performance among the amateurs came from Anthony Jomphe, who carded a 67 (-5) today. With a total of -9, he is the top amateur in the standings after 36 holes and has secured his spot among the players who will continue the competition this weekend.
A hole-in-one over 200 yards
The second round was also marked by an impressive hole-in-one by Ryan Curran on the 17th, a par-3 hole measuring over 200 yards. This remarkable feat added another highlight to the second day of competition.
The cut at -2
At the end of the second round, the cut was set at -2. The top 60 players and those tied for that position will advance to the final rounds, which will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
With a particularly tight race at the top and several Quebecers well-positioned, the stage is set for two highly competitive final rounds at the Victoriaville-Fenergic Canada Cup.
