Return of the Cataractes golf tournament presented by Desjardins
Montréal, February 23, 2026 – It is with great excitement that the Shawinigan Cataractes announce the return of their golf tournament for the benefit of the team's study fund in the summer of 2026. Presented in collaboration with the PGA of Québec and its new title partner Desjardins, the event promises another memorable edition for the Mauritian business community.
The 2025 edition brought together the maximum number of 144 golfers at the mythical Grand-Mère Golf Club, followed by a festive dinner at the Ô quai des Brasseurs restaurant. Wishing to repeat the same winning formula, the 2026 edition will take place on August 24 at the same location, with a dinner at Ô quai des Brasseurs in the evening.
Desjardins will act as a major partner of the event, while the PGA of Québec will renew its participation by bringing its expertise, its team and many of its best players, adding a touch of prestige and magic to the day.
Steve Turcotte, Executive Director of the Cataractes:
"The relaunch of our golf tournament was a great success last summer. Beyond the amount raised for the study fund, it was a memorable day where the region's business people were able to rub shoulders and meet many of our former stars such as Stéphan and Patrick Lebeau, Marc-André Bergeron, Michaël Bournival and Pascal Dupuis. We're coming back with the same schedule, but the tournament will be presented a little earlier in the summer, which will allow us to welcome some of our alumni who are currently playing in the professional ranks."
Eric Couture, Executive Director of the PGA of Québec:
"It's a privilege to team up with the Cataractes again. Last year's edition was a success in every way and we are already hard at work to make sure we get it right in 2026."
Eric Fortier, General Manager of the Caisse Desjardins du Centre-de-la-Mauricie:
"Partnering with the Cataractes golf tournament is much more than a gesture of visibility for Desjardins: it is a reaffirmation of our commitment to growing local talent. For years, we have proudly supported this team, which embodies the determination, resilience and ambition of an entire region. By supporting the Player Education Fund, we are helping to build young people who will not only become great athletes, but also engaged citizens and leaders of tomorrow." »
